Grandma's garden | El jardín de la abuela

Today, we are visiting grandma. She is 92 years old, and grandpa 96. They live near us, just one minute away from home. What I like the most about visiting them is taking a walk in their garden, full of colorful flowers. Grandma’s name is Flora, a perfect name for describing her love for her loving garden. She is very proud to show part of it.

Hoy, estamos en la casa de abuela. Ella tiene 92 años y el abuelo 96. Viven cerca de nosotros, a sólo un minuto de nuestra casa. Lo que más me gusta de visitarlos es pasear por su jardín, lleno de flores coloridas. La abuela se llama Flora, un nombre perfecto para describir su amor por su  jardín. Ella lo enseña con orgullo a todos los que la visitan.

Happy moms from El Rodeo

Everytime I see monkey moms jumping from tree to tree with their babies on their backs, my heart just melts… I see them teaching the babies how to swing on their tails, upside down, and how to grab mangos and papayas. But this mom, made my day. I was lying on my bed with Tami, my one year old baby, and suddenly, I saw her outside my window. I moved very slowly in order to grab my phone to take a picture of her and her baby, but she didn’t move. She was staring at me, and I felt the connection. I am a person, she is a monkey, but we both are moms. I thank her for sharing this precious moment with me. I hope for her to come back someday…

Cada vez que veo mamás mono saltando de árbol en árbol con sus bebés en la espalda, mi corazón se deshace... Las veo enseñando a los bebés a balancearse sobre sus colas, boca abajo, y cómo agarrar mangos y papayas. Pero esta mamá, me hizo el día. Estaba acostada en mi cama con Tami, mi bebé de un año, y de repente, la vi en mi ventana. Me moví muy lentamente para agarrar el teléfono y tomar una foto de ella y su bebé, pero ella no se movió. Ella me miraba, y sentí la conexión. Yo soy humana, ella es una mona, pero ambas somos mamás. Le doy las gracias por compartir este precioso momento conmigo. Espero que vuelva algún día...
