I have never been a big fan of The Beatles. In fact, I have never been a fan at all. If you ask me, I prefer the BeeGees.
When I was a teenager, I remember that my first boyfriend (now my husband) dedicated me John Lennon’s Woman. He was (and still is) a HUGE fan.
When our daughter Nela was 5 years old, he gave her her first CD: 1, the album with 27 #1 songs of The Beatles. And Nela became such a big fan, that she decided to have a super Beatle birthday party when she turned 6. I remember listening to Eleanor Rigby while the kids were playing hide and seek. It was very funny.
A few weeks ago, on July 7th, we went to the celebration of Ringo Starr‘s birthday in San Jose, and Nela (who is 8 now) was very excited. So excited that she wrote him a letter. Ringo hasn’t answered yet, I know it is something really hard to achieve, but we are trying. At the end of the day, the important thing is that Nela will remember that one day she wrote Ringo Starr a letter. Who does that? She does... and I will remember this forever.

Hace unas semanas, el 7 de julio, fuimos a la celebración del cumpleaños de Ringo Starr en la Plaza de la Democracia en San José, y Nela (que ahora tiene 8 años) estaba muy emocionada. Tan emocionada que le escribió una carta. Ringo no ha contestado aún, sé que es algo realmente difícil de lograr, pero lo estamos intentando. Lo importante es que, cuando Nela crezca, recordará que un día le escribió una carta a Ringo Starr. ¿Quién hace eso? Ella... y lo recordaré para siempre.
